BLOW THE "SANCTITY OF MARRIAGE" NONSENSE!
21.02.10, 12:03pm
There are good sound financial reasons why couples who intend to spend their lives together should get married. The law does not accept the phrase: "common law." If a couple do not have that magic bit of paper then the survivor is left with nothing. No pension rights, having to pay inheritance tax, could end up with them losing a property and other tax and stability issues.
Couples cannot afford to be unmarried. Once they tie the knot, they are legally bulletproof!

ANOTHER PART OF BRITAIN BROKEN BY LABOUR
13.02.10, 11:51pm
Marriage - like everything else that is decent - has been undermined by succesive labour governments.
The current wretched giovernment actually encourages women to have children out of wedlock because it is financially rewarding to do so. Just howc stupid is that.
Like everything else they meddle in, the socialists and their politically correct lapdogs have interfered - and made a mess of it.
There should be no benefits for unmarried mothers after the first child. Once is an "accident" but more than once is deliberate.
If they cant afford to keep the child then it shoud be taken from them and adopted - there are queues of people waiting to adopt.
We should encourage marriage and responsibility - not discourage it.

DOES MARRIAGE HAVE A PLACE IN TODAY'S SOCIETY?
13.02.10, 6:53pm
"Whilst the number of people getting married may have fallen the number of people getting divorced has also fallen dramatically so marriage is still an important thing for many people" -jeremydillon.
I agree, marriage is still considered important for some people.

DOES MARRIAGE HAVE A PLACE IN TODAY'S SOCIETY?
13.02.10, 12:09am
Whilst the number of people getting married may have fallen the number of people getting divorced has also fallen dramatically so marriage is still an important thing for many people.
Getting married is extremely expensive so it is hardly surprising that in times of recession that people think very carefully about spending money on a wedding especially if their jobs are under threat.

DEMOCRASY - LABOUR STYLE
12.02.10, 9:12am
"Gordon Brown has admitted for the first time that he struck a deal with Tony Blair over the Labour leadership - but insisted it did not take place at the Granita restaurant.
The Prime Minister said Mr Blair had agreed to support his succession to the leadership when he eventually stood down, on the basis that he was given a clear run in 1994."
DE
PROOF THAT BROWN IS AN UNELECTED AND ILLEGITIMATE PRIME MINISTER WITH NO RIGHT TO BE THERE.
MARRIAGE? I JUST PITY THE WOMAN MARRIED TO MCDOOM, THE MOST BORING TEDIOUS AND USELESS APOLOGY FOR A MAN WHO EVER WALKED THE EARTH.

I LOVE WOMEN ... I COULD NOT EAT A WHOLE ONE .. GRANTED, BUT I STILL LOVE EM !
12.02.10, 8:15am
Women a some point in time, will morph into girlfreinds, wives , etc etc .. sometimes even monsters ( mother outlaws ) its a shame and waste of a women, but thats life Jim, only not as we men know it, now, with even the best marriage, relaitionship, and all the lurrrrve and romance in the world ...
Women will never , ever, understand the torture we go through with 'Man -Flu '
We don't ask for much , ( most of the time ) so all that is required, is the couch, the remote control, a duvet, a roll of tissue, a large bowl of hot steaming chicken noodle soup, and a constant stream of sympathy !
There you go, thats not to much to ask for is it !

MARRIAGE, N. A COMMUNITY CONSISTING OF A MASTER, A MISTRESS, AND TWO SLAVES, MAKING IN ALL, TWO. * AMBROSE BIERCE, THE DEVIL'S DICTIONARY
12.02.10, 8:02am
The tragedy/misconception of marriage is that while some women marry thinking that their man will change, some men marry believing their wife will never change.
How can anyone not change in 10-20-30-40-50 years?
i am all for folk living together married or not, believe me you can be with someone for a lifetime and not really know them.
yet some find a soulmate in a short time.
its the luck of the draw....when we take a gamble?

And the relevance of your constant cut & paste drivel is?
Comke to that what was the relevace of your blatant threats in another thread?
Besides marriage would have no relevance to you would it - no man could be that desparate.

I wonder if the righteous ever actually have opinions and thoughts of their own - or are they simply programmed to constantly regurgitate other people's dubious opinions?

MANY REASONS FOR FEWER MARRIAGES.
11.02.10, 11:27pm
From the guardian..
"A spokeswoman for Marriage Care, which helps prepare people for marriages and offers counselling when they hit difficulties, said: "There are many reasons for the figures, but I think a lot of people have experienced parental break-ups and the pain involved and that puts some people off, despite all the known positives of marriage, such as better health and children doing better with married parents."
She added: "People are much more independent these days. It used to be that couples married in their early 20s, now it's their 30s. And that is a long time being independent, which must be hard to let go."

CRETINS
11.02.10, 11:09pm
No one can afford to marry any more - Labours policies have seen to that.
47% of the population now want to leave Britain - why? - because they are sick of immigrants, and labours nanny state and interfering politically correct clap-trap.
THOSE were the reasons given.
I wonder if the righteous are proud of what they have done ? - Cretins

MARRIAGE AND A PLACE IN SOCIETY.
11.02.10, 11:01pm
From the telegraph..
"The average age of women marrying for the first time has nearly hit the symbolic 30-year-old barrier, at 29.9, up from 29.8 during 2007. For men, the average age of getting married for the first time was 32.1 years, up from 32 the previous year."
Many women choose to marry later due to careers, as do men. The cost of getting married adds to this, re-marriages is another reason for those marrying later.
The break up of previous marriages could be another reason why marriages are down, people are taking it more slowly in finding a new relationship.
In the main society has changed their views on marriage for quite a while, while some opt for cohabiting relationships.
