CASUALTY
Saturday September 4,2010
What, When & Where BBC1, 8.40pm
Michelle Collins to appear in Casualty
AFTER a two-week break (see, I promised you it wouldn’t be off our screens for long), Casualty begins a new series with this special extended episode, featuring guest star Michelle Collins.
It’s a little different from the usual series-opener (where
traditionally a plummeting 747 crashes into a coachload of nuns, and
the two mangled vehicles then career into a home for the infirm), and
plays out instead as more of a psychological drama.
It’s
a pretty harrowing one, mind you – there’s been a shooting incident at
Holby College, and Collins plays the distraught mother of Simone, one
of the victims.
Also tonight, new nurse Mads, from Pakistan,
joins the team, but her struggle to understand some of the regional
accents is set to cause serious problems.
MY FUNNIEST YEAR: 2000
Saturday September 4,2010
What, When & Where Channel 4, 10pm
Presenter Rufus Hound
REMEMBER the Millennium Bug – that seemingly unstoppable catastrophe which, at the stroke of midnight on December 31, 1999, was going to bring our technologically over-dependent society to its knees?
Yes, quite. It’s one of the events recalled by stand-up Rufus Hound as
his memories from that year kick off this brand new comedy flashback
series.
THE X FACTOR
Saturday September 4,2010
What, When & Where ITV1, 7.30pm
X Factor judges Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell
WEEK three of the auditions, and yet another bunch of warbling wannabes set out to impress Simon and the panel.
Sitting in for judge Dannii Minogue during some of tonight’s performances is Katy Perry, responsible for a string of hits such as I Kissed A Girl and . . . er, presumably some others as well.
